RealEye supports multiple study types, each designed for a different kind of research. Here's a quick overview to help you pick the right one for your project.
Images & Videos
The most common study type. Upload any combination of static images (JPG, PNG) and video files (MP4). Participants view each stimulus while their gaze is tracked via webcam. Use this for ad testing, packaging evaluation, website screenshots, or any visual content.
Mockup Testing
Upload clickable mockups — either as linked image screens or Figma embeds. Participants can navigate through multi-screen prototypes while eye-tracking records their visual behavior at each step.
Screen Recording
Participants share their screen and browse a real, live website or web app. RealEye captures both the screen recording and the gaze overlay. This is ideal for usability testing on production websites.
Instagram Mockup
Place your images or ads in a fully realistic Instagram feed mockup. Participants scroll through the feed naturally, and you see exactly where they look — on your post and the surrounding content.
Embedded Website
Embed a website directly inside the study frame. Unlike screen recording, the page loads inside RealEye's test window, so you get cleaner gaze data without requiring screen sharing permissions.
Shelf Testing
Build virtual store shelves using product images. Rearrange products, vary packaging, and measure which items attract the most attention. Especially powerful for CPG and retail research.
